Once I got the news that I was going to have to come home, I kind of stopped focusing on school for a bit. I spent my last few days in London having fun with my friends and trying to check as many things off of my bucket list as I could. Once I got home, the reality of school began to set back in. I had a few assignments due right after I got home, but my professors were very understanding and allowed me a little extra time to complete them. Unlike most of my other friends who are college students, I never had any zoom lectures. I am thankful for that because if I did have zoom lectures, I would have to get up at 5 a.m. to attend them since they were happening in a completely different time zone. My professors posted pre-recorded lectures and shared the power points with us so we could access the material and study on our own time. The chancellor of London Met announced that all deadlines would be pushed back a week which gave me some extra time for both my midterm and final assignments. I honestly haven’t put much attention on school the past few weeks. I have been keeping up with the lectures but I haven’t had any homework so I’ve had lots of free time. Much of this free time has been spent cleaning my room and going through all of my clothes and ‘junk’ drawers. I have also spent lots of time in the Blue Ridge Mountains hiking. (I will add some more pictures of my hikes at the end of this post!) Since May is soon approaching, it is finally time for me to get back in the school grind. I have final papers due in the upcoming weeks that will take up much of my free time. Overall, my transition to online classes has been smooth and I have felt confident about the assignments I have been turning in. Luckily, the classes I am taking aren’t terribly difficult and are easy to understand from online lectures. If I had been taking math classes this semester, I’m sure the story would be much different. I am sad I wasn’t able to complete my semester in London, but I am thankful for my kind professors for being very understanding during this time. I know some of my friends in the program were not as lucky.
